Sometimes Purpose Takes a Lifetime: Finding My Why at 50

Have you ever had a moment when something finally clicks? When pieces of your life that once felt disconnected suddenly begin to make sense?

I had one of those moments recently while watching a TED Talk about life purpose.

It got me thinking about my own journey. All the different chapters, the unexpected turns, the things I tried, the things I learned, and the experiences that shaped the person I am today.

And then it hit me.

It may have taken me 50 years, but I finally know my purpose.

It's to create connections.

It's About So Much More Than Jewelry

Not just through a bracelet or a beautiful gemstone, but through what those things can represent. Love. Comfort. Joy. Hope. Kindness. The reminder that someone sees you, someone cares, and even a small gesture can make a difference in another person's day.

When Marc and I started Wicked Fabulous, I don't think I fully understood what it would become. What began as a small business has grown into something much more meaningful to us.

Every bracelet we create or curate, every piece we Reiki-infuse, and every Love Forward bracelet we send out into the world is an opportunity to connect people in ways we may never even get to see.

Someone receives a bracelet and feels a little more grounded. Someone gives a Love Forward bracelet to a stranger and brightens their day. Someone finds a piece that speaks to exactly what they're going through.

And somewhere in those moments, a connection happens.

That's what makes this so meaningful to me. It's not really about the jewelry. It's about how we make people feel. It's about bringing a little more light into someone's life and reminding them that kindness still matters.

Maybe the Journey Was Never a Detour

Looking back, I can see how every chapter of my life has brought me here. Maybe the journey wasn't a detour at all. Maybe I needed every experience, every challenge, and every lesson to understand what I was meant to do.

And perhaps that's true for you, too.

We put so much pressure on ourselves to figure everything out. We wonder if we're on the right path, if we're doing enough, or if we've somehow missed our calling.

But what if we're not behind?

What if our experiences are preparing us for something we simply aren't ready to see yet?

I spent years living, learning, growing, and figuring things out. I didn't necessarily recognize where it was all leading. But today, I can look at Wicked Fabulous and see something that feels bigger than a business. I see a way to bring more love into the world, one person and one connection at a time.

And that realization means everything to me.

You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out

You don't need to have your entire life figured out. You don't need a grand plan or a sudden revelation. Sometimes your purpose reveals itself quietly, through the things you love, the people you help, and the moments that make you feel most alive.

For me, that realization has brought a kind of peace.

I know why we do what we do. I know what I want to put into the world. And I know that even the smallest connection can have a ripple effect far beyond what we can imagine.

Maybe your purpose is already showing up in your life. Maybe it's in the way you care for someone, the encouragement you give a friend, the work that makes you feel fulfilled, or the simple kindness you offer a stranger.

Maybe you don't need to search harder. Maybe you just need to pay attention to what makes your heart feel full.

And remember, there is no deadline for discovering who you are or what matters most to you.

Your journey is yours. It doesn't have to look like anyone else's.

Our Purpose: One Connection at a Time

Our purpose is simple: to bring more love, joy, comfort, and kindness into the world, one connection at a time.

That's the heart of Wicked Fabulous.

For me, Wicked Fabulous has become more than something Marc and I built together. It has become an expression of what I want my life to stand for.

Love. Kindness. Healing. Connection.

And if a bracelet can help someone feel a little more loved, a little more hopeful, or a little less alone, then we're doing something that matters.

That is a purpose I can wholeheartedly believe in.

And after 50 years, it feels pretty wonderful to finally say that I know mine.
